Senior Accountant

We are a blue chip Company, a leader in the broadcasting media sector. 

Due to expansion and growth, the following position has arisen within our organization:

Senior Accountant

Context:

• Finance Department
• Computerized systems

Customers:

• Senior Management
• Auditors (Internal and external)

Outputs:

• Manage Finance Managers
• Responsible for inter-company accounts
• Prepare and process accounting journals in terms of IFRS
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Statutory reporting:

1. Assistance with monthly completion of reporting packs
2. Assistance with year-end completion of reporting packs
3. Completion of annual. financial statements

• Responsible for tax computations
• Completion of various company’s tax returns
• Financial Planning
• Financial analysis
• Resolution of financial queries
• Budgets and forecasting
• Assistance with corporate governance
• Assistance with managing systems of internal, operational. and financial control.
• Assistance with ad hoc projects

Qualifications:

• University degree in business related field
• Qualified Accountant (CPA (K), ACCAP or equivalent) are a mandatory requirement
• High degree of proficiency in computer applications for accounting and finance
• At least 7 years work experience which includes regular provision of the above outputs

Competencies:

• Strong financial and accounting knowledge (IFRS)
• Statutory understanding (companies act and Tax)
• Financial analysis experience
• Computer knowledge:

1. GL packages
2. Excel - spreadsheets
3. Microsoft Word
4. Hyperion Financial Management (advantageous)
